Hi, I’m Alana.

I am an Israeli-American peace advocate, communication expert, storyteller and media voice.

My journey into advocacy started the hard way — through the urgency of personal crisis on a global stage. When six of my family members were taken hostage on October 7th I became a public voice overnight on one of the most polarizing and high-stakes geopolitical and humanitarian crises of all time.

Whether talking on national news, writing op-eds, giving speeches, meeting with politicians or building a social media community I found that in order to get people to care about what you care about it takes radical courage paired with equally radical tenderness.

Now I show people how to be more heartstrong over headstrong in order to make positive social and political change. I encourage people across political and generational lines to confront complexity, challenge assumptions, communicate courageously, and turn their feelings and ideas into opportunities to actually be heard.

Reach out for media requests or collaborations, speaking, consulting, and other aligned partnerships.

Advocacy from the heart.

more about me

As an Israeli-American with Yemenite and Ashkenazi roots, I grew up across two homes and two cultures that shaped my complex identity and expansive worldview. But I could never have imagined how critical that identity and perspective would one day become. With an expertise in communications and rhetoric and a 15-year career in digital media I was equipped with useful tools, but ultimately it was my emotional sensibilities — my ability to feel deeply, articulate vulnerability and the courage to ask others to care about what I care about – that most helped me advocate for the safe return of the people I love. That became my most powerful asset.

The work and projects I focus on answer contemporary challenges with heart-centered solutions and ideas that place high value on courageous communication, personal experience, and relationship building as essential tools to influence positive social and political change.

I am also the Executive Director of the Narrow Bridge Project, a radical program that encourages Jewish people to stand together on the narrow bridge that represents our often differing fears.
